The two rooms guests remember, back the way you set them

A fireplace and a pool table are what people book a cabin for, and what a turnover can't skip. These are the checks that keep them guest-ready.

Gas-log and wood-burning hearths get the same checks. Anything involving fire, a flue, a pilot light or a machine's insides is for you or a specialist.

What the crew does

  • Cold ash swept into the bucket you leave out

  • Fireplace glass, hearth stone and mantel wiped

  • Firewood counted, restacked and the bark swept up

  • Tools, screen and bucket back in place

  • Pool table balls racked and cues in the rail, felt brushed

  • Arcade, foosball and air hockey surfaces wiped

  • Couch cushions lifted and vacuumed underneath

  • Games, remotes and controllers counted against your list

Spacious living room with a fireplace and built-in shelves

How a visit goes

How the hearth and game room run

  1. 01

    Step 1: Count what's there

Wood, tools and game pieces, compared to your list.

  2. 02

Step 2: Cold ash and glass

Only when the hearth is cold. A warm hearth is reported, not touched.

  3. 03

Step 3: The table and the machines

    Wiped, racked and photographed.

  4. 04

    Step 4: Couches and floors

    Cushions up, crumbs out.

Before and beyond

A few things that save a visit

  • What helps us

The hearth should be cold and the game room free of guest belongings.

    • A metal ash bucket kept in the same place

    • A short list of what belongs in the game room

    • A note on any machine we shouldn't unplug

    • The firewood supplier's name, if you want a count

  • What we don't do

A hearth is a fire safety matter, so the line is firm.

    • Light a fire or test a gas log

    • Clean a flue or chimney

    • Open an arcade cabinet or coin box

    • Level, re-felt or repair a table

Questions

About hearths and game rooms

Do you restock firewood?

We stack what your supplier delivers and count the nights left. Buying wood stays with you, unless you add it to your restock list.

What if something is missing?

It goes on the report with the room's photo the same visit we find it. We don't replace it, and we don't guess who took it.
